A gold watch is something that never goes out of style. It says, “I’ve arrived.” A simple dial, with a gold watch strap, helps you exude an air of achievement. You’re someone who has seen what they want and are willing to go for it.s
It’s a watch that’s ideal for wearing to the office, on a date, or even at a formal affair. It’s a little smart for a day at the beach. But if you’re sticking to a smart-casual dress code, it’s perfect.
To get the maximum wear out of the timepiece, it’s essential to choose a simple design. That glitzy fashion watch is great – for one season. But what about when the fad’s over? That’s why you’ll find designer brands sticking to a fashion-forward, but timeless designs.
Look at the top designer brands, and you’ll see what we’re talking about.
Designer Watches Are Pricey
That’s true. Unfortunately, some designer brands play on their names. Does it cost Rolex $6,500 to produce one of their most straightforward designs? Of course not. But they’re an iconic brand, and they use that to their advantage.
We see things differently. We care about everyone having access to a luxe brand. That’s how Nordgreen was born. We wanted to provide the classic elegance of a designer brand at a more reasonable rate.
That’s why you’ll see that our watches all come in at under £300. By adding a few extra pounds and choosing a bundle, you get an even more outstanding value. You’ll get a watch and two spare sets of straps. That’s three different looks at a very reasonable rate.
You’re probably doing some sums in your head right now. You’re wondering if it makes sense that there’s such a price difference. And you’re right – it doesn’t make sense. But, in all fairness to Rolex, that’s not only because their mark-up is so high.
They also add a lot of extraneous features and carry a wide range. In 2019 alone, they released six new models.
We, on the other hand, have kept things simple. We started with three basic designs and added a fourth later. That’s it – our whole range. By taking this step alone, we’ve cut our overhead significantly.
The second design decision was a choice between quality components or additional features. We stuck with quality components. After all, how many features do you need on your watch?
To make things a little more exciting, we opted for customizable watches. With our range, you can choose to change the following:
- Dial colour
- Dial size
- Watch strap
- Case colour
So, while we only have four different designs, there are still plenty of options.
Our vision was to create a range that embraced simplicity of design. With the help of the leading Scandinavian designer, Jakob Wagner, we’ve nailed it. See our range for yourself, and you’ll agree.
Your Range of Choices
Get ready to make some decisions here. You can opt for a simple gold watch with a case and straps to match. But you can also choose to change things up quite a bit. Even adjusting the dial colour is an excellent way to put your stamp of individuality on things.
Choose between a traditional white dial, a black dial, or a navy one. (That is, with all the models except the Philosopher.) Let’s have a look at the different styles and the options that you have.
The Pioneer
This is the latest design in our portfolio. As usual, we’ve kept it simple. It’s a chronograph that has two dials. One counts away the seconds. The other is a stopwatch.

This is the big boy in our collection. The dial size is 42mm and cannot be changed.

The Native
Simple and clean. This design fits in most closely with the Scandinavian principle of hygge. According to this principle, keeping things simple allows you to enjoy the moment. And we couldn’t have made things more uncomplicated than this.
The dial is marked with the hours only. There are no minute markings to clutter the dial, no third hand ticking off seconds and no date. The result is an eye-catching, one of a kind design that you’ll love.
Dial Sizes
Choose the right dial size for your wrist. A bigger wrist needs a chunkier watch. In this case, the 40mm would be best. Choose from:

You don’t appreciate the difference in dial colours until you see your different options. Choose from:

Why Choose Nordgreen Design?
We never compromise when it comes to quality. We are working to create a sustainable business because we care about the environment. That’s why we don’t offer cheap options that have to be consigned to the scrap heat in a couple of years.
We set out to create a luxury watch that most people can afford. Then we partnered with suppliers who care as much about quality as we do.
We Support Good Causes
By buying from us, you’re doing some good in the world. When you check out, you’ll have to choose between three charities. You pick the one that you prefer, and we’ll donate funds for:
- Water relief in the Central African Republic
- Education for children in India
- The preservation of the South American rainforest
What Materials do We Use?
Miyota Movements
Miyota is a Japanese company that produces the most accurate movements in the world. That’s the part of your watch that keeps it ticking over. We view it as the most critical part, and that’s why we partnered with the best.
Batteries
A good watch battery will last at least two years. A bad one might last six months if you’re lucky. That’s why we choose top-quality batteries from reputable suppliers.
Mineral Glass
Or, more specifically, Sapphire glass. It’s more expensive than other options, but the extra cost is worth it. It’s crystal clear and resists knocks and scratches.
Straps
There’s nothing worse than finding the perfect watch and having the strap break a few months in. We’re all about sustainability, so we chose our strap materials carefully.
These are your options:
-
High-Grade Stainless Steel: If you’re opting for a gold watch, you’ll get a gold-coloured stainless steel strap. Want a bit more variety? Why not grab another set of straps while you’re at it?
-
Italian Leather: The quality of the leather used in the strap is what determines how supple it remains. With a little bit of TLC every now and again, this leather will last a lifetime.
-
Rubber: Are you looking for a more casual look? Then the rubber straps might suit you better. They’re not susceptible to water damage and withstand heat well.
-
Nylon: Nylon is also a good option where water might be a factor. Mold won’t grow on it, so it doesn’t matter if it gets wet.
-
Vegan Leather: Vegan leather has been making a splash in the fashion industry. It makes an excellent substitute for the real thing. It’s plant-based, so vegans can wear it with confidence. And, unless someone gets close, they’ll never know the difference.
Water-Resistant
We felt that it was essential to make all our watches water-resistant. We’re going for maximum durability, so making the cases water-resistant made sense. They’ll be able to shake off a quick splash of water.
Two Year Manufacturer’s Warranty
We don’t offer the standard one-year warranty. We doubled it so that you get double peace of mind. If the watch fails due to a manufacturer’s defect in the first two years, we’ll repair or replace it. Just follow the procedure on our site, or take it back to the store that you bought it from.
